If you have really long hair all one length, maybe… But I have long hair full of layers and I’m not holding with my fingers, here is no clamp … wrap it around with your fingers… don’t trust the glove..all that will prove is that the curling wand (not iron) gets hot. I tried it and shipped it back. Hot Tools pro is what I replaced it with.

The only hard part about using this, is that you have to hold the tip of the hair against the iron. I found that by holding the hair up to about a 1/2 inch around the iron for ten seconds, and then the left over tip for about three, I could curl in the edge without burning my hands.
